Group Tour FAQs

Still have a question? or WhatsApp +94 77 011 0643.

What is the difference between the two routes?

Both routes share the same start and finish: Sigiriya, Kandy, Udawalawe, Mirissa, Galle and Colombo. They differ on days 4 to 7. Tea Country & South Coast: Two nights in Nuwara Eliya: Ambuluwawa Tower, Ramboda Falls, a tea factory, Gregory Lake and the colonial town, then Ella's Nine Arch Bridge on the way to Udawalawe. Ella & South Coast: The hill-country train from Nanu Oya to Ella, then two nights in Ella: Little Adam's Peak, the Nine Arch Bridge and an afternoon of your choice, before an afternoon safari in Udawalawe.

Who travels on your group tours?

Mostly couples, friends and solo travellers from around the world who want the classic Sri Lanka route without planning every detail. We keep groups small, so it feels like travelling with friends rather than on a coach tour.

How big is the group?

Small group. Tell us your date and we can let you know how many people are already booked.

I'm travelling solo. Can I join?

Yes, solo travellers are very welcome. Prices are based on two people sharing a twin room; choose your room preference on the booking form and we will confirm the options and any supplement for your date.

Where does the tour start and finish?

Day 1 starts with a pickup at Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo) or your hotel nearby. Day 10 ends with an airport drop-off after a morning in Colombo. Both transfers are included.

Can I arrive early or stay longer?

Of course. We can book extra nights in Negombo or Colombo before the tour, add more beach time after it, or add a Maldives stay. Just mention it in your message.

Which activities are optional?

Items marked Optional in the itinerary are your choice on the day, such as Polonnaruwa, whale watching, surfing and the Ella adventure activities. The core experiences (Sigiriya, the village tour and cooking class, tea factory, safari and Galle Fort) are included; optional extras are paid locally.

How fit do I need to be?

A moderate level of fitness is enough. There are some early starts and a few climbs with many steps (Sigiriya Lion Rock, Little Adam's Peak on the Ella route), which you can take at your own pace or skip.

When is the best time to go?

Our departures run from December to April, the dry season on the south and west coasts and the best time for beach days and whale watching off Mirissa. The hill country is cooler, so bring a light jacket for Nuwara Eliya and Ella.

Do I need a visa?

Most nationalities need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for Sri Lanka, applied for online before you fly. Visa fees, international flights and travel insurance aren't included in the tour price.

Can you cater for dietary needs?

Yes. Sri Lankan food has plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and we can arrange for allergies and other requirements. Tell us on the booking form.

How do I book and pay?

Send the booking request form; it's free and there's nothing to pay yet. We confirm your place and send the booking details. A 60% deposit via bank transfer confirms your place; the 40% balance is paid in cash on arrival.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 22 or more days before the tour starts are 50% refundable. Cancellations made within 21 days of the start are non-refundable.
